Meet the Author
I’m a nurse who swapped twelve-hour shifts for twelve drafts, mostly because the paperwork was the same but the blood was metaphorical. Rookie Nurses grew out of years inside the chaos and compassion of healthcare, where humour and heartbreak are often colleagues.
From newly qualified to middle management, collecting enough job titles along the way to make a CV editor weep, I’ve learned that every role comes with new ways to feel unprepared. Nursing is a masterclass in survival, humility, and a steady stream of jokes that are absolutely, categorically not appropriate for public consumption.
Through Rookie Nurses, I write the stories we usually tell in break rooms and car parks — darkly funny, painfully honest.
